About Me
Working with Me
Much like a kaleidoscope of constantly changing patterns, every one of life’s twists and turns influences how we view ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. When things are going well, we often view ourselves and our surroundings with clarity, confidence, and optimism. However, when faced with difficult situations such as loss, unexpected change, conflict or mental health challenges, our outlook can be obscured by fear, despair, pain, overwhelm, or hopelessness.
As a practitioner, whether in my role as therapist or mediator, I see the strength, resilience, and vulnerability in people as well as the possibility for growth, insight, transformation, and positive change. I appreciate that we are unique individuals who experience life’s challenges, successes, loss, and conflict differently.
Approaching both therapy and mediation with an anti-oppressive approach and intersectional lens, I continuously work to move beyond assumptions and interrogate biases to best serve clients. I recognize how multiple social identities intersect and I work with you to identify barriers that stand in the way of reaching your goals. I offer compassion and warmth to all client interactions and provide a non-judgmental space where you feel safe and heard.

About Me
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and an Accredited Family Mediator (AccFM) with the Ontario Association of Family Mediators.
I have worked in various community-based non-profit organizations as well as health care institutions in the public sector. My experience as a therapist includes working with individuals, couples and families to assist with a wide variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, stress and anger management, parenting, relationship issues, grief, illness, and addiction. I co-facilitated groups for children who have witnessed domestic violence as well as the Partner Assault Response group programming for men. I have worked with youth and adults in conflict with the law under several court diversion and restorative justice programs. In the health care sector, I worked primarily with adults over the age of 65 in the emergency department and rehabilitation unit assisting patients and their families with discharge planning, navigating systems and service needs in the community
My mediation experience includes providing court-connected and private practice family mediation services throughout Southwestern Ontario and I have assisted parties with all aspects of separation, including effective communication, parental decision-making and parenting time, child and spousal support, and division of property. I am actively involved as a volunteer mediator with Community Justice Initiatives in the Elder Mediation and Victim Offender Reconciliation (VORP) Programs since 2018 and with Community Options for Justice in the Youth Justice Committee and VORP Programs since 2020.
Prior to and during my career change into the fields of social work and mediation, I was a family law clerk for over 28 years. I specialized in assisting senior counsel with resolving contested parenting, child and spousal support issues, and division of net family property. As a law clerk, I supported and interviewed hundreds of clients and trial witnesses and prepared briefs, affidavits, and memoranda of understanding in preparation for court hearings and mediations. My experience in the adversarial family court system informed my decision to pursue a career in mediation where I can help people in a different way.
When I am not working or volunteering, I enjoy spending time with family, golfing, hiking, reading, travelling, and gardening.
